1-MINUTE RESUME FOR LUCAS BLACK
Lucas made his film debut with a small part in the Kevin Costner film
The War (1994) at the age of 11. After a stint on the TV series
American Gothic (1995), he landed a role in an Oscar-winning film: He played the young kid who befriends Billy Bob Thornton in
Slingblade (1996). After a bit of Calvin Klein modeling he scored another summer hit with
The X Files (1998) and finally got a lead role in the independent film
Crazy in Alabama (1999). Small roles in high-profile films (
Cold Mountain,
Jarhead) kept Black under the radar just enough to emerge as the new star of the
Fast and the Furious franchise. He took over the lead from
Paul Walker in 2006's
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
