1-MINUTE RESUME FOR ICE CUBE
Ice Cube got his start as a member of the controversial Los Angeles rap group N.W.A. After leaving the group, he pursued a solo recording career and broke into acting with John Singleton's 1991 drama
Boyz N the Hood, before co-writing and starring in 1995 stoner comedy
Friday. From there, he moved toward action films (
Anaconda), before starring with George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg in 1999 Desert Storm satire
Three Kings. 2000 saw a sequel to
Friday, and in 2002, he kicked off a new franchise,
