HOW THE GARCIA GIRLS SPENT THEIR SUMMER FACTS
Three generations of women in a Mexican-American family — grandmother, mtoher, daughter 3 each have their boring lives livened up one exciting summer. The aging Dona Genoveva (Lucy Gallardo) buys an old car and decides she wants to learn how to drive at the age of 70. Her gardener, Don Pedro (Jorge Cervera Jr.), provides the lessons, both in driving and in the art of love. Meanwhile, divorced, middle-aged Rosa (Elizabeth Pena) is hit on by a handsome video store owner (Steven Bauer), who just happens to be still married. Finally, teenage Blanca (America Ferrera) meets a suave boy (Leo Minaya) who may have gotten another girl pregnant.
