Casey Affleck Biography

Ben Affleck's younger brother, Casey, followed Ben and pal Matt Damon's lead (they all had the same high school drama teacher) and started auditioning professionally at age 15. He got his first big part as one of the hit men hired by Nicole Kidman in 1995's To Die For. But he continued his education, studying physics (specifically eugenics) at Columbia University while living with his grandmother to save money. Then Ben wrote him into Good Will Hunting, but despite the film's success, Casey continued to take the indie route with movies like 200 Cigarettes and Drowning Mona. Since then, he has appeared in such big budget films as American Pie 2 and Ocean's Eleven.


1. His father, Tim, was an alcoholic who ended up in rehab after splitting up with Casey's mother, a Harvard-educated elementary school teacher.
His son was born in Amsterdam, which was where he was filming Ocean's Twelve.
3. He and his brother, Ben, enjoy playing chess.
4. One of his early jobs was selling sausages outside Fenway Park; he once aspired to be a teacher.
5. He and his wife are both vegans.
