She returned to the States at 21, auditioned for the female lead in The Mask and with no previous acting experience — and 12 callbacks — landed the role. The leggy blonde with a wide smile made the A list in 1998 with There's Something About Mary, was involved in long, high-profile relationships with both Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake, eight years her junior, and has since established herself in mainstream franchises like Shrek and Charlie's Angels as well as doing indie-cred work like In Her Shoes.
