Adam Brody Biography

While employed at Blockbuster Video, future O.C. heartthrob Adam Brody looked at his friend and said, "Have you ever thought about acting? I mean, we're not actually doing anything." He moved to L.A., got an agent and went from parking cars at a Beverly Hills hotel to landing TV roles in Growing Up Brady and Gilmore Girls. While playing the nerdy, lovable Seth Cohen on the Orange County-based teen dramedy The O.C., Brody landed memorable supporting roles in Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Thank You for Smoking, moving up to star parts with In the Land of Women, opposite Meg Ryan.


1. He initially read for the role of Ryan on The O.C. but eventually played Seth.
2. Growing up, his only ambition was to own a surf shop one day.
3. His mother is a graphic artist, and his father is a lawyer.
4. He dated his O.C. co-star Rachel Bilson.
5. He loves indie rock bands like The Shins and Death Cab for Cutie; he is a drummer in the band, Big Japan.
